WORST TOUR EVER: “I was probably 3 weeks into my

WORST TOUR EVER: “I was probably 3 weeks into my first season, still trying to get the basics of being a guide. I had taken a group over to Masonboro Island for some beach and wave action. We had made it over to the island without a problem, landed the kayaks and made the short walk from the bay over to the beach. We enjoyed a couple hours of surf and sun, then we made it back to the Kayaks. We quickly learned that I didn't pay attention to the tide times like I should have.
So there we were looking at all of our kayaks floating out in the bay. I spent the next 20 minutes swimming out to retrieve them. Luckily enough my guests got to take advantage of my whoopsie and caught some more sun rays. But the trip back to our launch site went off without a hitch.”

WORST TOUR EVER: “We always get in touch with th

WORST TOUR EVER: “We always get in touch with the customers a few days before, but this one group, we never heard anything back from them despite several attempts to contact them. Regardless, I showed up at the launch point, fully expecting to get ghosted. Well, they did show up, but I was not prepared for them - there were 2 kids under 12 and a grandma that had to be around 80, in addition to the mom and dad, who weren't in great shape. Within the first half hour I had to jump in a tandem with one of the kids in the front, and by the end of the hour I had the other kid and grandma blockchained behind me and had to tow them for over an hour (into a headwind, of course). I still showed them a great time , even though I had to stop them from stashing hermit crabs in their bag to take home! They didn't tip me and my arms were so burned up that I couldn't stop cramping while loading kayaks. Between abdominal and bicep cramps, it took me over an hour to load up. When i finally got home, I was asleep on the couch within 5 minutes!
